SARA & JAPPA – Jazz Summer Nights

Sara & Jappa are a father and daughter acoustic jazz duo. Their performance is based on jazz standards and famous tunes from the 40s, 50s and 60s by Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Tony Bennet, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra and many others.

Sara Brodarić – vocal
Sara has collaborated on many successful albums of famous Croatian singers and bands such as Luky, TBF, Dječaci, Libar and Studio Frendo. She is the winner of the annual music competition Soirée de la Chanson Française, which is organized by the Alliance Française de Split and has performed as a singer at the Croatian National Theatre of Split in the play Romeo and Juliet.

Željko Brodarić Jappa – guitar/vocal
Jappa is famous as the lead vocal, guitarist and songwriter of the 70s rock band Metak, his later solo career as a singer-songwriter and his music production skills on numerous albums of some of the most popular artists in Croatia, such as Đavoli, Crvena Jabuka, Haustor, Animatori, Luky and others. Recently, he has also worked on theatre music.

Artemija brings truly a hint of a summer to Central Park Club. Her energy is palpable and playful and her voice cheerful. Catchy rhythms, stressed by handclaps and extemporaneous body moves…you guess – this time Artemija will perform mostly soul music but still you will be able to sense disco and funk influence in her performance.

The leading role belongs to young singer Mario Pavlić. By mixing rock and funk this trio found what connects them: a sense of play & good vibe. This 3 top notch musicians are constantly adding some new material to their extensive repertoire of pop, classic rock, one hit wonders, modern rock and funk.
Their mission is for you to lose yourself in the music so put down your phone and come have a great time!

DAVID MATIĆI CHEECHA feat Central Park Club Band 

David & Central Park Club Band performs quite eclectic repertoire composed of exquisite musical works.

When you combine the timeless classics of James Brown or Sinatra with the modern swagger of Bruno Mars or The Weeknd you’ve just experienced the night with David & Central Park Club Band.

David told me that music has always been around him—„from Pop & R&B, to Hip-hop, Soul, Classical, Rock and Jazz. I get new ideas and inspiration from a little bit of every musical style that’s out there.”

Growing up, David was strongly influenced by legendary artists Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and Prince. His own sound has been described as a blend of Pop and R&B, with a little taste of Funk.

Luckily he transmutes his voice easily, and can interpret so many different singers and genders…

The backbone of the band are Nikola Šantek – young, but certainly excellent pianist who graduated at the Music Conservatory in Klagenfurt & experienced drummer Marko Rabatić who played with several well-known Croatian and foreign bands and musicians.

With an impeccable degree of professionalism, an unmistakable collection of experienced talent, and wide repertoire of various styles, David & Central Park Club Band is sure to titillate the senses leaving a long lasting impression and each and every one of you.

VALERIJA NIKOLOVKSA & NOTHING BUT THE BLUES

Valerija Nikolovska / vocal – Valerija started her music career in 1987. She build her experience in blues, soul, funk, acid jazz, house & gospel, through her work with Delta, Blues Power, Telefon Blues Band, Songkillers, Mayales, Eddy&Dus. She also cooperated with Josipa Lisac, Zdenka Kovačiček, Meri Cetinić, Matija Dediće, Elvis Stanić, Majka, Dinom Dvornik and with Jazz orchestra of Croatian national television (HRT-a). Critics often speak of Valerija as a one of Croatians best female vocals.

This time Valerija performs with Nothing But The Blues Band

REPASSAGE

Jelena Galić – double bass / vocal – Young Croatian musician, singer and composer – plays electric bass, double bass, piano and mandolin. On the scene Jelena brings the brightness and positive energy. She founds her inspiration in ethno & traditional Croatian and Balkan sounds, Cuban and Latin American music, African music, jazz and bossanova. She graduated at the Music Academy in Split,and then moved to Zagreb to study the music production at EMI Institute.

Feel the playfulness of the movement – listen & dance – gipsy jazz, swing, retro & ethno rhythm is coming to Hvar.
Repassage develops their own authentic expression by combining traditional Balkan sound and their author’s songs in American jazz forms.
The band finds their inspiration in traditional jazz, that was popular around ‘50s in America and also in famous hits of Django Reindhart and Stefan Grapelli.

VID HRIBAR – Jazz Quartet

Vid Hribar and his quartet brings you live jazz music in Central Park’s quirky atmosphere, filled with smooth vibe, vintage videos and world class charm. And although Park’s isn’t a dedicated jazz club, it creates that ambiance and sets the stage for an entertaining live experience. Jazz enthusiasts can finally enjoy with having 4 days of jazz performance in the city. KUBAN SERVICE

“Let your body swim with the wind in the air and fell the language of vibration” … Kuban Service will make you dance.
This playful band will bring you salsa, sona, cha cha chá, bolero & bachata rythms.
Jelena Galić –Young Croatian musician, singer and composer – plays electric bass, double bass, piano and mandolin. On the scene Jelena brings the brightness and positive energy. She founds her inspiration in ethno & traditional Croatian and Balkan sounds, Cuban and Latin American music, African music, jazz and bossanova. She graduated at the Music Academy in Split,and then moved to Zagreb to study the music production at EMI Institute.
Mario Penton Hernández – musician, composer and arranger is artistic director of Cuban Service. His charisma has always attracted both musicians and audiences. Mario was born on Cuba. He began playing piano and percussion at the age of 11 at the Ernesto Lecuon Music Institute. Mario was a pianist at the official music ensemble of the La Escuela National Art School of Habana and Santiago de Cuba. He continued his study in Italy where he attended the New School University courses.

He has played at several music festivals (Festival de la Musica Folclorica de’l Habana, Festival del Caribe). In Italy he played with Toda Costa, Salsabor, Candombe, Pedro Mena Pereza, Campagna Lupia Jazz Band and participated in some of the most important music events in Italy: Vento Jazz, Gubio Jazz, Venezia Suona, Latinoamericano de Milano, Capionato Nacional De la Salsa de Trieste.
Since the beginning of 2005 he has played in the Cubismo and Kuban Service bands.
Mirsad Dalipi – drums – started to play drums when he was five years old. When he turned 17, he started taking lessons with Teoman Ukqa, Zanzi Band’s drummer. He gave himself completely to his passion and in 2004 he started playing with many bends such as Potera Band, performing alternative music at clubs and pubs in Ferizaj. From 2005 until 2007, he played with the band 7ME7. They played a number of concerts in Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia. They released two albums.

Together with the band “Ice scream”, Mirsad performed in the period 2007 – 2010 all around Kosovo, Albania and Turkey. In June 2009 he was invited to perform in Ohrid at Alarm Festival, with The Dizzies – British rock band.
He joined Fatime Kosumi’s pop rock band “To be the Silence” in 2010-2011 and perfrmed in different clubs and bars such as Sokoli Mirusha, Zanzi Bar, Hard Rocker Café, Filikaqa, Duplex, etc.
He joined Kuban Service in Zagreb when he meet Mario and Jelena.
